The&nbsp;<em>Job Opportunity for Youth</em>&nbsp;<span style="font-style:italic;">(JOY)</span> initiative&nbsp;provides charitable and not‐for‐profit organizations&nbsp;with grant funding&nbsp;to hire a youth from their community for a placement within their organization.</p><p style="margin-bottom:20px;">The grants aim to support organizations in&nbsp;achieving some or all of the following goals:</p><ul><ul><li>Provide quality work experience for youth;</li><li>Provide opportunities for youth to develop and improve their skills to assist with future employability;<br/>to learn about charitable and not‐for‐profit organizations</li><li>Engage youth through meaningful participation and sustained involvement;</li><li>Provide opportunities for youth to build connections with other employers;</li><li>Provide organizations an opportunity to share knowledge through supervising and mentoring a youth.<br/></li></ul></ul><p style="margin-bottom:20px;">The Community Foundation expects that through these Job Opportunity for Youth grants, charitable and not‐for‐profit organizations can have a greater impact on our community.
